Another Post Card & Red Work Design

I have digitized another Red Work design as well as turning it into a Post Card. I hope you like it, I am trying different fabrics as a background. I have to be careful because if it becomes too fat the Post Office will not deliver it.

Have a Great Day!

This one is better!

I have worked on a new postcard, this time I added a design that I have digitized and created the top layer all in the hoop. I added a border larger than my 4x6 to tack down a thin layer of batting. After the tack down I added the stiff stabilizer and fabric on top and stitched out the birds. I removed the hoop from the machine (leaving the design in the hoop) and trimmed the underside of the excess batting. I returned the hoop to the machine and stitched out the remaining part of the design. I used variegated thread, next time I will not because did not like where the colors have fallen.

Fabric Post Card

Wow, Christmas was really busy and that is a good thing! I have finally caught up and have started a few projects.

I am working on a collection of Japanese Designs both in Red Work and Filled. Hopefully those will be done soon.
In the mean time I have started working on Fabric Post Cards..... here is the first, try not to cringe too much. Not too bad for "winging" it, I could not make up my mind about the edging so I used a different on each side. Well ok I did not like the left side so I stitched it over again.

Sorry about the lighting, the colors are much more vibrant.

I have been working on a new project: I found a 5x7 box acrylic frame and I have created a couple of holiday inserts using variegated thread. They can be easily changed , I am working on creating additional holidays to complete the collection.
